Finding Peace at Work When Your Heart Wants to Be Somewhere Else
Share
Have you ever had those days at work where the tears just won’t stop?
The kind of days where you sit quietly at your desk asking God,
“Why am I here?"
"What is the purpose in this season?"
"Why does this feel so heavy?”
You show up.
You do your best.
You carry responsibility with integrity and care, even when no one else truly sees all that you carry.
You try to take a day to rest and reset, and instead of support you feel questioned.
As if you aren’t allowed to be a wife…
a mama…
a homemaker…
a human being outside of those walls. When in all reality that's where you want to be, should be, and meant to be.
You notice when things aren’t right because your heart is wired for stewardship and honesty. But when you speak, you’re told to be quiet.
So you retreat back into your space, wiping your tears, whispering another prayer:
“Lord, if You have something else for me… please open that door, please show me I am meant for more than this.”
Sweet friend, I want you to know...I have been there.
And I still walk through those days from time to time.
But this is what God has been gently teaching me in this season:
•If He is not moving me yet, then He is growing me here.
•If the door hasn’t opened, there is still purpose in the waiting.
•Peace is something we can cultivate, even before the change comes.
Because the truth is, my heart is at home. With my family. Creating. Living slowly and intentionally. Building a life that reflects faith, warmth, and simplicity.
And while I continue to pray for the next step, I am also praying:
“Lord, help me be faithful in this place without losing my peace.”
Not perfectly.
Not every day.
But little by little.
So if you are in a season where you feel placed somewhere that doesn’t match your heart…If you are waiting for God to make the way…
If you are trying to remain grateful while also longing for more…
You are not alone.
He sees you.
He knows the work you carry.
He understands the desires He placed inside of you.
And when the time is right, He will open the door in a way that:
•supports your family
•honors your calling
•and brings peace instead of pressure
Until then, we create small pockets of peace right where we are.
Right here I have created 5 simple ways to create a peace-filled work
My prayer is that this space, just like our homes becomes one that nurtures your heart.
You were never meant to live in constant heaviness.
Joy is still being written into your story.
Praying for you in your waiting season.
